WEEK FOURTEEN

Final Propsal/ Presentation

In the end I wasn't really happy with the design I did, it wasn't resoveled enough and I didn't have enough time to explain though my presentation how this design was suppose to work :( It feels like I did a lot more work than shows and Im not sure why :(

WEEK FOURTEEN

Finalising the Cloud Room

After making the mock model I decided that the could room should hang out of the exhibition space so when you are standing in it is feel like there is nothing below you. If i cantilever out the could room and place a structural glass floor then there would be nothing between people in the could room and the entry plaza...

Also air locks need to be placed on each side to ensue that the movement in the air does not disrupt the clouds, this also allows for equipment to be placed in the walls to ensure that the humidity and temperature would not change in the room..

Because the room is on the south side of the building and the facade shades it most of the day then the sun does not have that much effect on the temperature of the room...

WEEK THIRTEEN

Mock Model
I was having a lot of trouble working out my design on paper so I went back to making models!! I made a mock model at 1:200 so that I could get the facade system working and the structure in the building, it also gave me and idea on whole if the design it's self would work how i wanted it to...

I was happy how it turned out so i thought after this I would start working on my final presentation/ design...

WEEK THIRTEEN

Structure
AS my deign involves a lot of glass, it is important to add structure to the building (floors can only support them selves to a certain extent, add trees and people to that and you need some major structure to ensure the building stays up)

I decided to add columns on angles to eunre they run though the outer edges of the floors, that way it limits the columns coming though the middle of levels as the floor plates to not directly sit on top of each other..

The elevator and stair sharfts will also be able to carry loads to the ground...
